Understanding flows – optimizing solutions

CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation—also known as flow simulation—enables a detailed analysis of flow and temperature conditions within components and complex systems as early as the development stage.

Using a CAD model, we create a virtual representation of the relevant flow domains and analyze the behavior of fluids and gases under realistic operating conditions. This makes parameters such as pressure, velocity, temperature, and heat transfer visible and subject to targeted analysis.

Why do we do this?

CFD simulation enables the early identification of critical issues such as pressure losses, unfavorable flow distributions, turbulence, and thermal gradients. It also allows for the analysis of cooling or heating system efficiency and behavior by coupling heat transfer between solid bodies and flowing fluids (CHT – Conjugate Heat Transfer).

Various geometries and operating conditions can be virtually investigated and compared. This allows for the targeted optimization of components and systems before costly prototypes or test setups are created.
